“GREAT WAY TO END THE YEAR”

29 December 2013

Mark delighted after 5-1 victory

Mark Robins praised Danny Ward after he starred in the Terriers’ emphatic victory over Yeovil Town.

The attacker assisted Town’s opening two goals and also scored a second half brace of his own to earn Town a victory on their final outing of 2013.

Mark Robins was delighted with the former Bolton’s man showing and has been impressed with his link-up play with Martin Paterson.

He said: “Danny has a lot of ability and has some unbelievable attributes. If he can hone those skills and keep working hard he will continue to turn in the performances like his one today. He gives us something different up top and he has struck up a decent relationship with Martin Paterson, which is interesting.

“We were excellent, those two especially.”

The Glovers went ahead in the match and caused Town problems just after the interval.

“Yeovil are a good side and are in this division on merit; Gary Johnson has worked miracles to get them here,” said Mark. “They have got some fantastic results this season and are a capable side, but we set about the game brilliantly today.

“We moved the ball neatly and played very well.

“The lads deserve a lot of credit; the football they played at times was fantastic. They were willing to get on the ball and play football. It was a great way to end the year.”

Town were once again without leading goalscorer James Vaughan who is still recovering from a knee injury.

“I spoke with him today and he has improved, but it will all come down to his healing process,” Mark said. “He has a bump on his knee and they can be painful. We will hopefully have him back sooner rather than later.”
