CARR EXTENDS FLEETWOOD LOAN

23 December 2013

Under-21 striker stays for another month

Huddersfield Town striker Daniel Carr has extended his youth loan at Sky Bet League Two club Fleetwood Town for a further month.

The 20 year-old, who completed a transfer to the Terriers from non-league Dulwich Hamlet in the summer, joined the ‘Cod Army’ for an initial month back in November.

However, with his loan due to end after their game at home to Cheltenham Town on Saturday, all parties have now agreed to extend his stay at the Club until 26 January inclusive.

To date Daniel has made three appearances for Graham Alexander’s side – his first start coming in their home game on Saturday - adding to his 10 goals in just eight games for Town’s table-topping Under-21 side.

Huddersfield Town Manager Mark Robins commented:

“We still have a good number of available options in attack, so extending Daniel’s loan suits both clubs and the player.

“It’s good that Fleetwood have been impressed by him and want to keep him at their Club for the busy festive period, but the next challenge for Daniel now is to force his way into Graham Alexander’s starting eleven.

“It is important for Daniel’s development that he gets more experience of senior football in a team near the top of a tough division.”
