TOWN’S TEAM vs. BARNSLEY

31 August 2013

Scannell comes into starting line-up

Huddersfield Town Manager Mark Robins has made one change to the starting eleven for today’s Championship game at Barnsley; 3pm kick-off at Oakwell.

Having named the same starting line-up for the last three games, Robins has brought Sean Scannell into the team at the expense of Martin Paterson; today is Sean’s 100th start of his career in all competitions.

Otherwise the Terriers are unchanged from the side that started against Charlton in the Capital One Cup on Tuesday night, meaning goalkeeper Alex Smithies plays behind centre backs Joel Lynch, Anthony Gerrard and Captain Peter Clarke.

Jake Carroll will be deployed as left wing-back with Adam Hammill on the right – he made 84 appearances for today’s opponents Barnsley between February 2009 and January 2011.

Jonathan Hogg, Oliver Norwood and Adam Clayton will form the central midfield trio, with Scannell playing just off top scorer James Vaughan in attack. Vaughany is making the 150th appearance of his career at Oakwell this afternoon.

Development Squad defender Tommy Smith makes his second appearance on the First Team bench this afternoon.
