BOOTHY CRASHES RETIREMENT PARTY!
13 August 2013
Huddersfield Town’s Club Ambassador Andy Booth gave a retiring teacher a day to remember at Fixby Junior and Infant School.
The staff and pupils at the school threw retiring teacher Steve Goodall a special retirement assembly and picnic at the conclusion of his final school year and invited Boothy to the day as a surprise guest!
The Town legend – the teacher’s favourite ever Town player – presented a gobsmacked Mr Goodall with a signed home shirt and a ticket for the White Rose Club, which had been paid for through a collection held by staff, children and parents.
Boothy even had time to take part in a specially arranged penalty shootout at the picnic!
Club Ambassador Andy Booth commented:
“It was fantastic to be invited to Mr Goodall’s retirement celebration. He was obviously very well-liked by the pupils and staff alike and they had put a real effort into his send-off.
“Steve was obviously a big Town fan too and it was great to chat with him about the Club. I told him that now he’s retired, he has more time to follow the team up and down the country!”
