Beckford straight in for debut; Vaughan injured

Manager Simon Grayson has handed new boy Jermaine Beckford his full Huddersfield Town debut in today’s npower Championship game at home to Watford; 3pm kick-off.

Loanee Beckford replaces James Vaughan, who misses out with a slight groin strain this afternoon.

Otherwise Town’s match day eighteen is unchanged from the terrific win at Blackpool on Monday night.

Town are expected to line up in a 4-4-2 formation against the Hornets, with goalkeeper Alex Smithies protected by a back four of Paul Dixon, full home debutant Anthony Gerrard, skipper Peter Clarke and Jack Hunt. 

Danny Ward makes his 50th Huddersfield Town start on the left of midfield with Adam Clayton playing from the right, leaving Oliver Norwood to partner Keith Southern on his 300th League start in the middle of the park.

Beckford will be partnered in attack by Lee Novak, who will be looking to build on two goals from the last two games.
