New Lewis James Suite in full operation
Some notable names from across business and community enjoyed the brand new luxury surroundings as Town’s prestigious new Lewis James Suite made its debut at Saturday’s home victory over Derby County!
The new VIP match day lounge, the brainchild of the Club's commercial team has been created with the help of industry leading Club Partner Andy Thornton and based on the principals of Manchester Airport’s prestigious VIP area.
With Town investing heavily to create a new experience, the suite is set to become the premier business lounge on a match day.
The newly launched suite perfectly complements the burgeoning White Rose Club and re-launched Stripes Bar for supporters – with food available to purchase on the day to complete your experience.
Further improvements to the impressive new suite are expected over the coming weeks and months.
Huddersfield Town’s Chief Executive Nigel Clibbens said:
“This is a great example of HTAFC’s commercial business acumen coming together with some of our own investment to create a unique and very special experience. The room has a real buzz and is unrecognisable away from our match days.”
Huddersfield Town’s Commercial Director Sean Jarvis added:
“The Lewis James Suite is a new venture for the football club this season. It’s something we’ve wanted to do for a while, but this season the time is right given the momentum that promotion to the npower Championship has given us.
“This match day initiative is designed to bring businesses associated with the football club and the community together with key influencers and community stakeholders in a relaxed atmosphere. We want people to enjoy the football – and hopefully the Club can facilitate a little bit of business at the same time!
“So far the reaction from guests in the Lewis James suite has been very positive – people like what the Club is doing. It’s great to see our Club Partners and their guests, plus those invited by the Club, enjoying an afternoon, with a bit of business thrown in, in a relaxed atmosphere.
“I would also like to thank Club Partner Expect Distribution for its support in moving the furniture in and out of the Stadium for our match day, as well as our excellent team of match day decorators for their hard work.
“It’s a major challenge for us to create something special. We have bought our own furniture and fittings and we bring it all in, set it up and remove it all again by 7pm to our own offsite storage ready for the next game.”
MP for Colne Valley Jason McCartney was among the guests in Town’s new match day suite as the Terriers beat the Rams 1-0, with Managing Editor of the Daily Telegraph Media Group Ian Marsden and Kirklees Council Chief Executive Adrian Lythgo among several other influential figures such as Frank Worthington and Trevor Cherry!
A match day quiz to win a tray of Rekorderlig was won by Ian Kendall, Director of Your Management Solutions Ltd.
This season the suite has already played host to the likes of Olympic Gold Medallist Ed Clancy, 14 Olympic Torchbearers, as well as Coronation Street stars and football dignitaries like Wigan Manager Roberto Martinez.
Alasdair Brown, Chief Executive of Club Partner Kirklees Active Leisure, enjoyed the new Lewis James suite on Saturday and commented:
“The Lewis James Suite has a relaxing atmosphere, providing a great place to meet on match day where you can entertain business partners and guests before during and after the game, as well as keeping in touch with the latest news from the Club and meeting new contacts.”
Limited places are still available in the Lewis James Suite – if you are interested in getting involved on a match day, please contact Commercial Manager Tracy Nelson on 01484 484141 or email tracy.nelson@htafc.com.
