Memories network final match sponsor

Sporting Memories Network is the third organisation to offer its support of Town’s campaign to raise awareness of dementia this Saturday.

The Network is one of three match sponsors for the match following on from the announcements that BUPA and Meridian Healthcare had also offered their support. Sporting Memories
Network will work alongside Bupa and Meridian to provide fans with information on dementia and to help raise awareness of the illness.

The Sporting Memories Network was established to promote and develop the use of sporting memories to improve the well-being of people through conversation and reminiscence.

An evaluation of the initial Scottish Football Reminiscence Project, published by Glasgow Caledonian University in 2010 concluded that football reminiscence has the potential to contribute to the wellbeing of men with dementia in terms of enhancing their self-confidence, self-expression, sociability and sense of enjoyment.

The directors of the network share a common goal and belief. Sporting reminiscence can improve the quality of life of people. We aim to spread the knowledge and use of this approach far and wide.
