Latest networking meeting takes place at LBT
Around 80 local and regional businesses were represented at the latest meeting of the Huddersfield Town Enterprise Academy (HTEA) at the Lawrence Batley Theatre on Tuesday afternoon.
The Social Responsibility of businesses was top of the agenda and the HTEA meeting boasted an expert panel to address the issue; Huddersfield Town Chief Executive Nigel Clibbens, Yorkshire Air Ambulance Director of Fundraising Paul Gowland, Insight with Passion Founding Partner Richard Gomersall and Ian Agnew of Digital Outreach and ‘Not Just a Trading Company’.
Huddersfield Town’s Commercial Manager Tracy Nelson was among the attendees on the afternoon and explained that the September meeting was one of the most insightful so far:
“The importance of corporate social responsibility within business is often debated, but I thought the entire panel really showed how applicable it is in real-life situations within their businesses.
“Nigel used Saturday’s match against Derby County – the Sporting Memories game – as a fantastic example. By ‘doing the right thing’ – one of Huddersfield Town’s core values – we ended up getting unique sponsorship opportunities with the Sporting Memories Network, Meridian Healthcare and BUPA.
“Even though I work at the Club, I hadn’t thought of it in that context and I found it very interesting that all the panellists put the theory of social responsibility into real life terms.
“I’d like to thank Yorkshire Business Growth, who now run the HTEA on our behalf, as well as the Lawrence Batley Theatre for allowing us to hold the meeting at their great venue.”
Jane Whitham, Director at Cream Consultancy Ltd, posted the following on the HTEA LinkedIn page today:
“A very impressive event. Attended my first HTEA event today and was really impressed by the concept, the number of delegates and the speaker line up. Looking forward to the next one!”
The next HTEA meeting is already being planned for later this year, but for now you can interact with businesses in our community via the HTEA LinkedIn group – click HERE to join now!
