TOWN’S TEAM vs. BIRMINGHAM

6 October 2012

Grayson makes three changes to starting line-up

Simon Grayson has made three changes to the starting line-up for today’s match with Birmingham - the most notable of those come up top where Jermaine Beckford partners James Vaughan.

Elsewhere, Paul Dixon drops to the bench in place of Calum Woods, who makes his first start of the season.

Birmingham-born Vaughan makes his 50th career start in all competitions after missing the last two games with a groin injury, while Beckford returns to the line-up after been ineligible for the Leicester game.

Also, Adam Hammill is deemed fit enough for a place on the bench after missing the last four games with a knee injury.

Alex Smithies will be protected by a back four of Woods, captain Peter Clarke, Anthony Gerrard and Jack Hunt. Grayson has selected a familiar midfield with Oliver Norwood and Keith Southern in the centre and Adam Clayton and Danny Ward on the wings. Town’s goal threat today will come from Vaughan and Beckford in attack.
