TOWN LEADING THE WAY IN BBC SURVEY

18 October 2012

Terriers cited as good value for money

The BBC has today released its ‘Price of Football’ independent survey, citing Huddersfield Town as the best value for money in the npower Championship!

Town’s pricing category system, ranging from A* to PROMO, means that the cheapest adult match day ticket this season can be as low as £10 – well below the Championship average of £21.07.

The Terriers are one of only three Football League clubs to offer a match day for under £20, which includes ticket price, programme, a tea and a pie, alongside League 1 Sheffield United and League 2 Plymouth Argyle.

Only Sheffield United provide a cheaper match day experience in the entire Football League; a day out at Bramall Lane costs £17.20, 60p cheaper than Town’s lowest price.

“We want to have flexibility in our prices and historically we have always had offers throughout the course of the season. This season we have formalised that offer and made a commitment in our pricing structure via the ‘PROMO’ category,” Huddersfield Town Chief Executive Nigel Clibbens explained today.

“Clearly the PROMO category is not available every game, but it is one of the options to use throughout the season.”

Clibbens added:

"From Dean Hoyle through to everyone at the Club we recognise the importance of value for money and we want fans to come and watch us live! At the same time, balancing match day and Season Card value is a top priority for us. We don't get thing rights all the time but we are very sensitive to the needs of our fans and our community."

This week Huddersfield Town is offering adult ticket prices for just £10 to over 9,000 Season Card holders in a PROMO 'bring a friend’ promotion to this Saturday’s big npower Championship clash against Wolves; combined with also a PROMO offer 'Schools Focus’ to 20,000 parents (£10) and children (£5) in local schools . That means thousands of adults and kids can take advantage and come for just £10 this weekend.
