Sponsors sign up staff to Walk for Pounds

Walk for Pounds, Town's sponsored 19 mile walk held on Saturday 10 November, will see fans trekking from Huddersfield to Barnsley's Oakwell Ground to raise funds for both the Yorkshire Air Ambulance and the Huddersfield Town Academy through the ‘Keep it Up’ campaign.

Justin Holley of Walk for Pounds sponsor Orchard Environmental said: “As a local business we’re very proud to be the title sponsor of such an important community fundraising event and even prouder that so many of our staff are showing their support by taking part.

“At the last count we had over 20 employees signed up for the event and we’re all really looking forward to the day.”

Joining Justin and Orchard Group managing director Gareth Henderson in the ‘Walk for Pounds’ team are Kate Lord, Barbara Wallace, Coleen McKay, Natalie Faulkner Lowe, Sophie Broadley, Kim Howard, Heather Wrathall, Lisa Kingswell, Hollie Mangan, Jessica Walsh, Rory Ingham, Ian Dickinson, Gavin Smith, Hannah Whipp, Amar Hussain, Paul Hoddy, Neil Ewing, Thomas Midgley and  Rachel Henderson.

Last season’s Walk for Pounds to Bury FC was a huge success, with £27,000 being raised for the ‘Keep It Up’ campaign by 180 entrants.

So far, over £710,000 has been raised for the ‘Keep It Up’ campaign, with the target being £1 million by the end of the 2012/13 season.

Why not sign up a team from your office or business and use Walk for Pounds as a team-building exercise, as well as a vehicle to raise funds for ‘Keep it Up’?

Applications are still being accepted for the Walk until Friday 12 October. Click HERE to download the official form and return complete with your £10 admin fee (which covers a hot sandwich and hot drink pre walk, completion t-shirt, bottle of water and a snack).

Cheques can be made payable to the ‘Keep It Up’ campaign, and should be returned to the Club FAO Robyn Deegan, Huddersfield Town Football Club, Stadium Way, Huddersfield, HD1 6PX. Alternatively, cash can be handed in along with the sign up form at the Stadium main reception.
