LOAN WATCH: MATCH TIME FOR TRIO

1 October 2012

Kallum, Atky and Liam get game time

Three Huddersfield Town players were in action for their loan clubs last week; Kallum Higginbotham, Liam Ridehalgh and Chris Atkinson.

Striker Kallum played two games, making his first Carlisle start in their Capital One Cup home clash with Tottenham Hotspur on Tuesday night. With former Town loanee Joe Garner cup tied, Kallum led the line with another ex-Terrier Danny Cadamarteri and, according to the local newspaper, ‘was involved in Carlisle’s best moments’. Despite this, the Premier League side ran out 3-0 winners on the evening.

Kallum followed that hour on the pitch with an appearance from the bench as the Cumbrians were beaten 2-0 on home soil by visitors Crawley; the Town man played the final 25 minutes as Greg Abbott’s side looked for a way back into the game.

Carlisle and Kallum are back in action on Tuesday when they travel to Bury’s Gigg Lane in npower League 1 action.

Meanwhile Chris Atkinson and Liam Ridehalgh continued to impress at npower League 2 outfit Chesterfield, playing a full 90 minutes each during the Club’s 1-1 home draw with Torquay United at the weekend.

That was Atkinson’s fourth appearance for his loan club, whereas Ridehalgh – who recently extended his loan at the Club – has now played eight times.

The Town pair will travel to Morecambe for a Tuesday night game with the rest of the Spireites now.
