FAMILY FOCUS AT TOWN ON SATURDAY

17 October 2012

Plenty of ‘off the field’ activity vs. Wolves

Town’s Fantastic Family Stand will be packed with children and their families from 100 local schools in the first ‘Schools Focus’ match of the season on Saturday – and there are plenty of activities planned to add something extra to the day!

Your day could start early with Town’s Saturday Soccer Schools, run by the ‘Football in the Community’ department at the Zone on St. Andrew’s Road. Priced at just £4 per person, our 5-7 year old class runs between 9am and 10.15am; our 8-10 year old session between 10.15am and 11.30am and the 11-13 year-old session between 11.30am and 12.45pm.

There’s also plenty going on at Canalside Sports Complex on the morning of the game; Town’s under-18 side take on visitors Barnsley in the latest FA Premier Academy League game from 11am, whereas inside the new function room we welcome the legendary Steve Kindon for the latest question and answer session at 12.15pm (click HERE for more info)!

When you make your way to the ground, why not pay a visit to Club Partner Kirklees Active Leisure’s gym next door to the Stadium from 1.45pm to wish Town fan Alan Boothroyd good luck – he’ll be on a treadmill preparing for a mammoth run in 2013 to raise money for the ‘Keep It Up’ campaign (click HERE for full info).

Ahead of the game and throughout match day there will be plenty going on around the Family Stand; two face-painters and a balloon modeller from Artifaces can turn you blue and white from 1pm inside the lower and upper FM Stand turnstiles!

The Huddersfield Town cheerleaders will also perform in front of the Fantastic Family Stand ahead of the game.

Members of Town’s Development Squad will also be around the squad to sign autographs ahead of kick-off while our friendly staff will hand out ‘One Game, One Community’ stickers and information, kids pull-outs from ‘Give Us An H’ and brand new ‘Terrier Bingo’ cards to keep your kids entertained throughout the 90 minutes!

Town’s ‘One Game, One Community’ ambassadors Peter Clarke and Sean Scannell visited North Huddersfield Trust School on Monday (click HERE for full info) and their pupils will be at the Stadium on Saturday to perform the traditional ‘Guard of Honour’ as the teams emerge onto the pitch for the 3pm kick-off!

The fun doesn’t stop there – during the half-time interval five lucky juniors will be picked out from the crowd to win a trip to Stockley’s Sweet Factory in Blackburn – just keep an eye on the Big Screen to see if you are selected (click HERE for full information).

Communities United will also host a seven a side match between local kids during the half-time interval.
