RIDEHALGH JOINS ROTHERHAM ON LOAN

22 November 2012

Defender ends stay with Chesterfield

Huddersfield Town defender Liam Ridehalgh has today moved on loan to Rotherham United following the conclusion of his previous loan deal with Chesterfield.

The left-back has joined the npower League 2 outfit until January 12 inclusive.

The 21 year-old was an integral part of the Chesterfield team during the opening months of the season which saw him make 14 starts and 16 appearances in total.

He joins an ambitious Rotherham team that is currently 11th in npower League 2, just two points behind sixth placed Rochdale.

Last time out they suffered a 3-2 defeat at home to Wycombe and now face two away trips to Exeter City and Accrington Stanley, both of which Liam is available for.

Huddersfield Town Manager Simon Grayson said:

“Liam has made steady progress at Chesterfield and I would like to thank them for offering him the opportunity to continue his development by playing first team football.

“Although Liam is now joining another League 2 team we feel that it will be another real test for him, in a team who are playing with high levels of expectation and who will be fighting for promotion come the end of the season.

“As with all our players we will continue to closely monitor his progress to enable us to decide on what is the best next step for Liam when his loan deal concludes in January.”

Liam’s loan deal includes a 24 hour recall clause after the first 28 days have passed.
