TOWN FLYING HIGH WITH VIRGIN ATLANTIC

14 July 2012

Major new commercial partnership announced

Huddersfield Town has today announced a new partnership with worldwide brand Virgin Atlantic ahead of the 2012/13 season.

Huddersfield Town's Commercial Director Sean Jarvis and International Development Manager Ajin Abraham joined James Rowan and Claire Barlow of Virgin Atlantic at Manchester Airport on Thursday morning to toast the new deal in front of one of the airline company's impressive Airbus A330-300.

Virgin Atlantic, who have bases in the north of England that enable them to transport both business and leisure customers around the world, will use its extensive network to aid Huddersfield Town's development in new international markets as the football club continues to grow and celebrate promotion to the second tier of English football.

Recently named the 'Best Long-Haul Airline' as well as 'Leading Transatlantic Airline' in the World Travel Awards, Virgin Atlantic was formed by Richard Branson in 1984 and has since gone on to become one of the world's leading airline brands - investing significant amounts in facilities all across England. They pride themselves on growing a profitable airline where people love to fly and work, and offer 'red hot fares to red hot destinations'!

Huddersfield Town's Commercial Director Sean Jarvis commented:

"I'm absolutely delighted to announce the new partnership with Virgin Atlantic. Everyone at the football club is incredibly excited to work alongside such a global brand and pioneer in its industry and I think it is a testament to the ambitions and growth of Huddersfield Town that Virgin Atlantic has come on board with us.

"Obviously our core market, both in terms of fans and businesses, is Kirklees and Yorkshire, but it would be remiss not to explore wider markets across the country and worldwide - albeit very tentatively. Promotion to the Championship will increase our television viewership across the globe and that, combined with the innovative work we are undertaking off the pitch, makes us a very attractive proposition.

"I firmly believe this new partnership will not only be of huge benefit to the Club, but also to our extensive network of business partners. In due course I look forward to working alongside the fantastic people at Virgin Atlantic and discussing how we can forge stronger international links with other businesses."

James Rowan, North of England Sales Executive for Virgin Atlantic, added:

"Virgin Atlantic Airways is delighted to be in partnership with Huddersfield Town. As an airline we fly to some of the best business and leisure destinations in the world. This partnership will help us explore the opportunity to reach out to not only people associated and linked to HTAFC, but to a whole new audience of business and leisure travellers through the links associated with the Club.

"Manchester Airport is a key departure point for us with our direct services to Orlando, Barbados and Las Vegas. The partnership reconfirms our commitment to work with organisations who share our vision and passion.

"I am sure that this partnership will be one that benefits both parties both in the short term, but also looking further in to the future."
