NEXT GENERATION READY FOR EMLEY

Development Squad in action on Tuesday night

Steve Eyre’s Development Squad will be in action at AFC Emley on Tuesday night as the Terriers take on the Northern Counties East League side for the Adrian Wright Memorial Trophy; 7pm kick-off at the Welfare Ground.

The likes of Matt Crooks, Jordan Sinnott, Lloyd Allinson, James Burke, Connor Loftus, Max Leonard and Israel Johnson are set to feature for a side managed by Development Coach Steve Eyre.

Steve told htafc.com:

"We're going to field a mixture of young development players, four or five trialists, who I'd prefer to call guests, and some youth team players coud feature too.

"We're looking forward to putting all our hard work over the past fortnight into a game. The Development Squad has worked very hard and the lads are itching to play and they will probably get 70 minutes each - some will get more - and it'll be a good test for them.

"We won't put too much emphasis on the scoreline; Tuesday night is about fitness and seeing where we are. If we can get the performance and a result that will be fine."

The opposition

AFC Emley has won three and lost one of its four pre-season games so far this term.

Their squad, which features former Town youngster Steven Kenworthy, won the corresponding fixture 2-1 last pre-season.
