JORDAN ENJOYING SCOTLAND TRIP

26 July 2012

Striker pleased to grab his first goal of pre-season

Huddersfield Town’s Scotland international Jordan Rhodes opened his pre-season account last night in his homeland and admitted that he was looking forward to finishing off the tour in “style” against Hibernian on Saturday.

The striker produced his trademark movement to beat his marker and head home Paul Dixon’s cross in the 38th minute and after the match was his ever so modest self.

“It was nice to see the goal go in,” Jordan told htafc.com.

“I thought we passed the ball around well, especially considering that we are a few weeks behind Kilmarnock in terms of preparations. They are a very good team who did well last season and I felt that we adapted to the speed that they came at us with. It was good to pit our wits against a team, who at the moment, are probably fitter than us.

Town have been up in Scotland since last Sunday – and Jordan has enjoyed the time he has spent with his teammates in Scotland’s largest city.

“It is brilliant to be back up in Scotland – all the people are so very friendly. I have had a few people come up to me, asking how I am and who I am with - it is nice. It is good that we are situated in the middle of Glasgow as it has allowed us to have a little walk around the City when we have had some rest periods – it is better than being stuck in a hotel in the countryside!

“The training facilities have been very good up here; I am familiar with them from my time in the Scotland under-21s. The coaching staff have been working us very hard, putting us through double sessions, but that is nothing more than we expected!”

The Terriers' friendly against Hibernian on Saturday 28 July will complete their Scotland trip – for ticket information click HERE.

“Hibernian will want to give us a good game as they kick off their season the following Saturday. As always we will try and do the best we can during the game and in the lead up to it in training. Hopefully we will finish off the tour in style.”
