CREWE NEXT PRE-SEASON OPPONENTS

30 July 2012

Get ready for Wednesday's friendly

Town’s first team is back in action on Wednesday when Simon Grayson takes his squad to newly promoted npower League 1 side Crewe Alexandra; 7.30pm kick-off at the Alexandra Stadium.

A strong side is expected to take on the Railwaymen on the evening and for many Town fans that couldn’t make one of the games in Scotland it could be the first time to see the likes of new boy Joel Lynch in action, as well as latest signing Keith Southern.

The Terriers are also expected to be in their new navy away strip for the first time on English soil on Wednesday night.

The opposition

Crewe won last season’s npower League 2 Play-Off Final at Wembley Stadium, beating a Cheltenham Town side featuring Town loanee Jimmy Spencer the day after Town’s dramatic win at the national stadium.

Managed by former Crewe and Burnley player Steve Davis, the Railwaymen have a reputation for bringing through a host of talented youngsters and will no doubt pose a stern test for the Terriers.

Admission prices

Admission is at the turnstiles priced at £10 adults; £5 seniors and disabled fans and £3 under-16s.

Crewe Alexandra Football Club can be accessed by two junctions off the M6, but please note that it is easier to get here by leaving at junction 16.
