TOWN’S TEAM vs. HULL CITY

15 December 2012

Grayson makes three changes to starting XI

Huddersfield Town Manager Simon Grayson has made three changes to his starting XI for today’s npower Championship game against Hull City; 12.30pm kick-of at the KC Stadium.

As expected, midfielder Keith Southern returns to the starting line-up following the completion of his three game suspension; the experienced ex-Blackpool man will make the 350th start of his career this afternoon at the expense of Chris Atkinson, who drops to the bench.

Fit-again Joel Lynch, who missed last weekend’s 2-2 home draw with Bolton Wanderers with a hamstring injury, replaces the suspended Paul Dixon at left back.

Danny Ward also comes back into the team at the expense of Reading loanee Simon Church, who drops out of the match day 18 altogether today.

On the bench striker Jermaine Beckford makes a welcome return after a five game absence with a hamstring problem.

Town look set to line up in a 4-4-2 formation this afternoon, with goalkeeper Alex Smithies making the 150th appearance of his career between the sticks behind a back four of Joel Lynch, skipper Peter Clarke, former Hull Player of the Year Anthony Gerrard and Jack Hunt. Keith Southern and Oliver Norwood will form the central midfield duo with Adam Clayton on the right wing and Danny Ward on the left, leaving James Vaughan to partner Lee Novak in attack.
