TOWN APPEALS GERRARD RED CARD

24 December 2012

Defender now available on Boxing Day

Huddersfield Town can today confirm that it has appealed against the sending off of Antony Gerrard during Saturday’s 1-1 draw at Crystal Palace.

The defender was shown a straight red card for serious foul play in the 81st minute of the game at Selhurst Park after going into a challenge just outside Town’s penalty area with home winger Yannick Bolasie.

This red card carries a three match suspension, but following the appeal the FA will convene a panel to review the case on Thursday; therefore Gerrard is available for selection when Town host Blackpool on Boxing Day.

Simon Grayson will definitely be without the services of fellow centre back Joel Lynch on Wednesday, who will serve a one match suspension after picking up his fifth yellow card of the season against the Eagles on Saturday.
