SUCCESS CENTRE STUDENTS EARN TICKETS
5 December 2012
Students from Ashbrow Junior School have earned tickets to watch Town take on Bolton this Saturday thanks to their hard work over the last year.
The school is working hard to improve the learning opportunities and life experiences of its children and their families with several groups of Year 5 and 6 students attending Town’s Success Centre. Each group of up to 15 pupils has attended the Success Centre after school for up to ten weeks. The main focus has been to develop literacy and numeracy skills in order to prepare for their SATs exams at the end of Year 6.
Town’s Success Centre uses the stimulating environment of the Stadium and other football related activities to promote learning and engagaement. The Club also provides prizes and match tickets as an added incentive – such as the ones been given out ahead of Saturday’s game!
One of Ashbrow Junior School students commented: “It’s great to learn at the Success Centre. They make things fun and I always look forward to coming every week. I like the games on the computers best."
Established in 1999, Huddersfield Town Success Centre is an education centre that works not only with pupils from local schools but also with adults, families and community groups.
