STOKE CITY AWAY IN YOUTH CUP ROUND 4

14 December 2012

Match to be played before 19 January

Huddersfield Town’s Under-18 side has been drawn away at Stoke City in the Fourth Round of this season’s FA Youth Cup.

Town were deserving 3-0 winners at Hartlepool United in the Third Round of the competition on Tuesday night (click HERE for a full match report) and will now play the game at Nantwich Town’s Weaver Stadium before 19 January 2013, with an exact date to be confirmed.

It is the first time that the young Terriers have made it to the final 32 stage since the 2005/06 season, when they were defeated 2-1 at Carlisle United.

The Town and Stoke youngsters have met in the competition once before – on that occasion in the 1975/76 season, Town were 2-0 winners at the Old Leeds Road ground in front of a crowd of 610.

Stoke’s youngsters play in the Barclays Under 18 Premier League National Group B, sitting fourth out of seven teams, and recorded an impressive 4-0 win at Brighton & Hove Albion in the Third Round this week.
