GERRARD RED CARD RESCINDED
27 December 2012
Huddersfield Town’s appeal against the sending off of Antony Gerrard during Saturday’s 1-1 draw at Crystal Palace has been successful.
The defender was shown a straight red card for serious foul play in the 81st minute of the game at Selhurst Park after going into a challenge just outside Town’s penalty area with home winger Yannick Bolasie.
This red card would have carried a three match suspension, but following Town’s appeal the FA convened a panel to review the case today and the decision has been overturned – meaning Gerrard will face no ban.
Simon Grayson will welcome fellow defender Joel Lynch back from suspension when Sheffield Wednesday visit on Saturday, whereas striker Alan Lee will serve the final game of his three match ban.
