Strong squad selected for penultimate friendly
Town Manager Simon Grayson has selected his starting XI for the first team’s pre-season friendly at Chesterfield tonight; 7.45pm kick-off at B2net stadium.
Town are expected to line-up in a 4-4-2 formation, with ‘keeper Ian Bennett protected by a back four of Liam Ridehalgh – who scored a brace last time out –, Jamie McCombe, Murray Wallace and Tom Clarke. Scott Arfield makes his first appearance of pre-season alongside Antony Kay in the middle of midfield, while Anton Robinson and Kallum Higginbotham will play on the wings leaving Jimmy Spencer to partner Alan Lee in attack.
Chris Atkinson features on the bench for Town; meanwhile Development Coach Steve Eyre will be keeping an eye on the other substitutes who are all a part of his Development team.
