RHODES SET TO LEAVE FOR RECORD FEE

30 August 2012

Striker nears Blackburn Rovers move

Jordan Rhodes is set to complete a transfer from Huddersfield Town to Blackburn Rovers today for a Club record transfer fee.

Huddersfield Town accepted Blackburn Rovers’ fourth bid of the transfer window on Wednesday afternoon, paving the way for Rhodes to discuss personal terms with the Ewood Park outfit.

The fee dwarfs the previous Club record for a transfer fee received, which stood at £2.75 million.

Rhodes joined Huddersfield Town from Ipswich Town in July 2009 and has developed to gain a reputation as one of the most prolific strikers in the Football League. His 87 goals in 148 appearances place him eighth in the Club’s all-time scorers list and after eight goals in as many games for the Scotland under-21 squad he earned his first two caps for Scotland’s senior squad.

Comments from Simon Grayson on Jordan’s imminent departure will follow on htafc.com today after his scheduled 1pm press conference.
