LIAM’S HARD WORK PAYING OFF

3 August 2012

Ridehalgh leaving his mark on pre-season

Left back Liam Ridehalgh has been working hard on the attacking side of his game – and you could see the fruits of his labour during tonight’s 3-0 win at Radcliffe Borough.

The Academy graduate netted a quick-fire double in Town’s latest friendly and told htafc.com that he has been working hard on his forward-thinking.

“Over the last couple of seasons I’ve tried to work on the attacking side of my game – especially last season. I knew that my ability to get forward was lacking when I broke into the Huddersfield team and I’m delighted to get the two goals tonight,” Liam told the official website.

The defender got 45 minutes under his belt before being forced off with a slight niggle and is hoping to do enough to force his way into Simon Grayson’s first team.

“The main thing is to get minutes on the pitch so we’re ready for the forthcoming season. Obviously I want to impress too and get into the first team too!”

Liam was also impressed with his younger colleagues on the pitch tonight:

“It’s good for the young lads to play with the likes of Anton, Alan Lee, Tom Clarke and Ian Bennett. They need to keep working to get where they want to be.”
