Success Centre pupils coming to Barcelona clash

Local youngsters who excelled in the Huddersfield Town Success Centre’s recent family numeracy fun day are being rewarded for their achievements – with tickets to watch the Terriers take on FC Barcelona B!
The fun day, hosted in the Success Centre’s classrooms in the Stadium’s Fantastic Family Stand, was designed to help families – adults and children – improve their maths and numeracy skills.
A group of 21 children and their parents from South Crosland CE (VA) Junior School attended and have been rewarded for their achievements with tickets for the friendly against Barcelona’s B side, which takes place on Wednesday evening; 7.45pm kick-off.
Huddersfield Town Success Centre Mike Mawson, assisted by Emma Fox, led a variety of fun filled maths activities including a grand tour of the Stadium with numeracy questions; interactive numeracy games on the computers; a team game called ‘Money Madness’ and a range of quizzes and fun activities to promote maths understanding and enjoyment of working with numbers.
Huddersfield Town’s Schools Coordinator Rachel Taylor commented:
“We’re delighted to be hosting the Success Centre’s pupils from the numeracy week. They did fantastically well and were totally committed throughout the week, so it is only fitting that they will come and enjoy what promises to be a great match as a reward for their hard work.
“This is the latest successful initiative from the Huddersfield Town Success Centre and hopefully we’ll see more activity like this in the coming months.”
