GREAT RESPONSE TO TOWN FOUNDATION

23 August 2012

Commercial Director Jarvis encouraged by interest

Huddersfield Town Foundation Trustee Sean Jarvis has told htafc.com that he is encouraged by the fantastic initial response from the local community following the launch of the Huddersfield Town Foundation – but he wants even more people to come forward with their support!

An impressive total of more than £20,000 has already been pledged during the Foundation’s inaugural weeks as preparations continue for ‘Early Kick-Off’; the Huddersfield Town Foundation Breakfast Club that aims to supply around 200,000 free breakfasts to the youngsters that need the most support in the local community.

“The response from our local community has been phenomenal so far,” Sean explained today.

“That started on the day of the launch, when three companies approached me pledging their support – one of the representatives even stood up halfway through my presentation to do so!

“The Foundation, and in particular the first project ‘Early Kick-Off’, is gathering momentum now but we still need as much financial support as possible to make this initiative as successful as possible.

“I’d encourage any business to come forward and support us, or find out how they can get involved; please email me on sean.jarvis@htafc.com.”

The overall aim of the Huddersfield Town Foundation is simple – to help improve the quality of life for young people across Huddersfield and the West Yorkshire area.

The brainchild of Huddersfield Town Chairman Dean Hoyle, the Foundation was officially launched in July 2012 after the football club enjoyed huge success in previous initiatives designed to benefit youngsters across the community. Hoyle, backed by local businesses and individuals alike, had already taken a cumulative total of almost 2,000 local children to the Club’s two Play-Off Final games at Manchester’s Old Trafford in May 2011 and the iconic Wembley Stadium in May 2012 to watch Huddersfield Town in action on the big stage.
