REPORT: B TEAM PUTS FOUR PAST LEICESTER CITY!

5 April 2023

A 4-1 away win for Jon Worthington’s side

- Leicester City 1-4 Huddersfield Town B
- A great performance from the Young Terriers
- Braces for striker Kyle Hudlin & skipper Ben Midgley

The Huddersfield Town B Team put in a great performance on Wednesday afternoon, travelling to the Midlands to defeat hosts Leicester City 4-1.

Although every member of the team deserved credit for the showing, the stars of the show were striker Kyle Hudlin (pictured above) and midfielder Ben Midgley, who both scored braces.

Jon Worthington’s team included First Team squad member Jordan Smith, who got a valuable 90 minutes under his belt in goal, as well as two trialists; centre back Luther Williams and Bermudian winger Remy Coddington.

After a goalless first 30 minutes, 6’ 9” tall striker Hudlin scored the game’s first goal, converting a cross from Midgley.

However, the lead was short lived as the home side equalised just four minutes later through a penalty.

Town heads didn’t drop though, and the men in pink led by two at the interval thanks to a quick-fire double salvo. First Hudlin scored his second goal after good work from midfielder Sonny Whittingham and then Midgley got on the score sheet, latching onto Hudlin’s flick-on before firing home.

It took until the 81st minute for Mirfield native Midgley to complete the scoring; he latched onto a loose ball behind the Leicester defence to get his second.

We’ll bring you the goals on our dedicated Academy social media accounts on Thursday, as well as a post-match interview with Jon Worthington on htafc.com!
