Town took the lead in the 14th minute as Josh Austerfield's lofted ball down the left found Jaden Brown in space. The left-back’s grounded cross found Phillips in space in the centre of the box and the young forward slotted home coolly.
Farsley Celtic drew level just eight minutes later through a powerful Carl Johnston strike. Luke Parkin played Johnston through as the Farsley man stuck a low shot first time beating goalkeeper Ryan Schofield.
