ROCHDALE GAME TO BE USED AS YOUTH CUP PREPARATION

5 December 2019

Match arranged to help gel together Town’s Under-18 side

- Town’s Under-18s to face Rochdale at PPG Canalside
- Game will take place on Friday 6 December 2019; 1.30pm kick-off
- Young Terriers to use the game as practise for the FA Youth Cup

Huddersfield Town’s youngsters will face Rochdale at PPG Canalside to help prepare for the FA Youth Cup Third Round.

The Young Terriers travel to play Chelsea on Wednesday 18 December 2019 and are taking as many opportunities as possible to gel together as a squad.

As a result, Town will face a young Rochdale side at the Terriers’ Training Ground on Friday 6 December 2019, which will kick-off at 1.30pm.

Supporters can watch the youngsters for FREE. However, please note due to the ongoing work at PPG Canalside no parking will be available.

Academy Manager, Leigh Bromby, commented on how the game will be beneficial for the players.

“The FA Youth Cup is the most prestigious competition in Under-18 Academy football and it’s important that we give our squad the best possible chance to prepare for the challenge that Chelsea will pose in mid-December.

“We will field an Under-18 side against Rochdale to help the youngsters build relationships on the pitch and gain a further understanding of how their teammates play.

“There will be a number of these games as we prepare for the Third Round of the competition.

“We would encourage supporters to attend the Rochdale game, if they can, as it will help the youngsters get used to playing in-front of a crowd.”
