Bromby’s side draw at home to Leeds

- Town’s U18s draw in the West Yorkshire Derby
- Micah Obiero & Scott High on target for Town
- Highlights on HTTV this week

Despite taking a two-goal lead inside the opening quarter-of-an-hour, Huddersfield Town Under-18s were held to a 2-2 draw at home to Leeds United in the West Yorkshire derby.

With the First Team squad without a game due to the international break, Huddersfield Town’s Under-18 side were in action as they welcomed Leeds United to PPG Canalside for a Saturday morning West Yorkshire derby.

Bromby made 3 changes to the side that narrowly lost out in a 5-4 goal frenzy against Bolton Wanderers last Saturday as Olly Dyson, Mason O’Malley and Isaac Marriott were introduced to the side in place of Dahomey Raymond, Saul Milovanovic and Jordan Thomas.

Goalkeeper Luke Mewitt also returned in time having spent the last week away with the First Team on their international break training camp in Marbella.

The game started well for Town as Micah Obiero’s left footed strike fired Town into an early lead with barely 3 minutes on the clock, before Scott High bundled the ball home for Town’s second 10 minutes later.

The visitor then pulled one back on the half-hour mark having been granted a penalty that was duly converted, sending Town into the interval with a reduced one-goal advantage.

The visitor came out firing in the second-half levelling the scores up less than a minute into proceedings as the game turned into a wide-open affair.

Town’s chances of grabbing a winner were vastly increased when Leeds were reduced to ten-men as their player was shown a second yellow card. Despite the man advantage, Town was unable to grab the late winner meaning both sides would share the spoils in the West Yorkshire derby.

Town’s Staritng Line-Up:
Luke Mewitt; Ben Jackson, Jordan Eli, Mason O’Malley; Dom Tear (Dahomey Raymond, 60’), Isaac Marriott, Scott High, Matty Daly; Olly Dyson (Tom Bamford, 60’), Micah Obiero, George Danaher

Unused Subs:
Jordan Thomas
