Flying winger Pat Jones joined Town's Academy from Wrexham in September 2019, receiving international clearance to play in January 2020.
Pat played junior football for Welsh non-league clubs Ruthin Town and Bala Town before joining Wrexham’s Academy in 2017.
He was spotted by Town’s Academy Manager Emyr Humphreys playing for the Red Dragons against Accrington Stanley in March 2019, and he soon impacted Wrexham’s First Team – playing in a pre-season friendly against Curzon Ashton while just 16 years old that summer.
In August 2020, the winger played for Carlos Corberán’s First Team in the pre-season friendly against Manchester United’s Under-23s.
Two months later, Pat signed his first professional contract, agreeing a deal that runs until the summer of 2022, at which point the Club has the option of a further year’s extension.
January 2021 saw the youngster make his senior Town debut against Plymouth Argyle in the FA Cup. His Championship debut followed a week later, when he came on as a 62nd minute substitute for Rolando Aarons against Watford.
His 2020/21 campaign concluded with the winger winning the Antoni’s Memorial Academy Player of the Year award!
In June 2022, Jones made his Wales Under-21 debut, coming on as a 65th minute substitute as Wales continued their UEFA U21 European Championship qualifying campaign, losing 0-1 to the Netherlands.
It’s also worth noting the work that Jones does away from the football pitch. In March 2022, the youngster volunteered alongside B Team teammate Brodie Spencer to become a Terriers Together Ambassador for the Club, which will see him promote and participate in the Club’s work towards achieving the Premier League Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion Standard.
