Matty currently has 10 England Under-17 caps to his name after starring for the Young Lions in the 2018 U17 European Championships.

Matty hails from Stockport and joined Town’s Academy from Everton as an Under-15 player.

An attacking midfielder who usually plays in one of the wide positions behind the striker, Daly impressed on the international stage and was a key figure for England as the Young Lions were beaten in the U17 European Championship Semi-Finals. Matty has scored one goal in 10 appearances for his country.

Having progressed through the Town Academy, Matty made his senior debut as a substitute in the Premier League game against Watford at the John Smith’s Stadium during April 2019. He’s gone on to make two starts and 10 substitute appearances in Town colours, with his only goal securing a vital Championship win at Charlton Athletic in December 2019.

The midfielder saw his 2021/22 campaign split into two loan spells.

Spending the first half of the season with Sky Bet League 2 side Hartlepool United, Daly scored seven goals and recorded three assists.

Matty made the switch to Bradford City in January, where he made nine appearances and scored one goal for the Bantams in a 1-2 victory away to Walsall.

A foot injury saw the youngster requiring surgery, ruling him out for the rest of the season.
