Date of birth
Attacking midfielder Josh Austerfield has progressed through the Town Academy into the Under-17s side.
The youngster signed for Huddersfield Town at Under-8 level from junior club Drighlington and has since been a key figure for the Young Terriers.
Josh, who was born in Morley (Leeds), plays in the middle of midfield, where he can showcase his impressive passing range and ever-improving defensive abilities.
Austerfield was one of a handful of Academy players who traveled with Danny Cowley's First Team squad to a training camp in Dubai in November 2019, after which he made two appearances in the senior squad. He was an unused sub for the Sky Bet Championship games against Leeds United and Charlton Athletic in December 2019.
The latter half of the 2021/22 season saw Josh move to Sky Bet League Two side Harrogate Town alongside teammate Brahima Diarra.
The midfielder had to fight for his place in Harrogate’s team against Josh Falkingham, taking the chance when the latter got injured towards the end of the season. As a result, Austerfield was involved consistently in the final five games of the season.
