TREATMENT ROOM UPDATE
htafc.com talked to Town's first-team physiotherapist Lee Martin today and he has confirmed that Chris Brandon will miss the rest of the season with his hamstring problem picked up in the midweek victory over Leeds United.
Other than that, all of Town's injured players are recovering well and are on course to return for the final weeks of the League One campaign - as Lee explains:
Chris Brandon - Out (Hamstring)
Brando came off in the second-half of the game against Leeds United after he pulled up holding his right hamstring. The way it is presenting, he has a tear to some degree and although it's nothing major, it's enough to keep him on the sidelines for 3-6 weeks.
We'll treat his problem just as we normally would and hopefully he will be near full fitness by the end of the season so he can go away with the rest of the lads.
Danny Cadamarteri - Out (Knee)
Danny is progressing as expected and has responded well to another dose of the shockwave treatment that I discussed last week. His treatment this week has been a bit more intensive and he's getting used to that; he's not reacted badly to any running either inside or outside and we're still hopeful that he will be back in full training before the end of the season.
Frank Sinclair - Out (Calf)
Frank had an MRI scan on his left calf last Friday and it showed nothing, but upon returning to training on Monday he could still feel something. A scan can confirm there is no tear, but there could be a fatigue problem with the muscle and Frank has a history of left and right calf problems.
We're treating the problem conservatively and it is settling down, so hopefully he will rejoin full training next week.
Phil Jevons - Out (Calf)
Phil has had a really good week with me on the training ground and has had no reaction from his calf, other than a bit of an ache that you would expect. We had the area rescanned this week and that confirmed that there is no scar tissue left near the site of the tear, so all being well he will rejoin full training next week with a view to playing in our last reserve game against Leicester City.
Matthew Young - OK (Rib)
We've now got Matty a special vest to play in that protects his cracked rib and he wore it for the first time when he played for Rotherham's reserve side yesterday evening. He got knocked a few times and the vest seemed to protect him, so he will continue to train with me and play in games when he can.
Mitchell Bailey - Out (Illness)
Mitch has been off all this week through illness, so he has gone to see his Doctor today. He has a chest infection that has laid him low, but he will not rejoin training until next Monday.
