SEASON TICKET SALES SET TO BREAK RECORDS
The number of season tickets sold for Huddersfield Town's 2009/10 campaign looks set to break several records.
Up to this morning 8,400 tickets have been sold with 21 days of the early bird offer still to go. This includes nearly 2,500 to fans under 18 and 700 to new fans.
The Fantastic Family Stand looks set to have in excess of 3,000 season ticket holders, with Lower Tier availability already sold out and the Upper Tier now also fast approaching a sell out.
Less than 350 more are needed to beat the highest total of season ticket sales achieved in the last 10 years - a record set back in 2000/01.
The next target is then 9,100 set in 1999/2000 - which is the all time record if you exclude last season when 16,000 season tickets were sold at one-off low prices as a unique offer for the Club's Centenary Season.
Chief Executive Nigel Clibbens today commented on the season ticket sales:
"The ticket sales so far are very encouraging. What is particularly heartening is that we have successfully retained a significant number of supporters who were new to the Club last season and were attracted by the very low prices. Families are being attracted to the Club in large numbers, as well as younger fans.
"Prices have had to be increased, but we have worked hard to offer choices and to explain the position to our fans. They are demonstrating their support for the Club by parting with their hard earned cash in difficult times, and doing so in record numbers. We thank all our fans both long standing and new ones for their support."
