Next season will be the beginning - real change starts here

The 2009/10 season will be my first as Chairman and I am tremendously excited about the future - what we can achieve both next season and beyond.I cannot wait for the kick-off. I have been a Town fan all my life and the last year has already given me an opportunity to learn everything about the Club from the inside - which is a whole lot different to watching from the stands!Like you, my dream as a supporter is to watch an exciting, successful team and be part of a Club we can be proud of. I feel very fortunate that I am now in a position to shape Town's future.I take my privileged position incredibly seriously. It is a position of trust and one where I am determined to do everything I can to make us as successful and we can be.

We must strive to be the best we can be - strong on and off the field

Town already has a growing reputation as one of the most progressive Clubs in the country - we are making "friends" and gaining new found respect in football. As a family club we are second to none, but we can and will do much more. We have an excellent manager in Lee Clark and he and his backroom staff share the same ambition and hunger for success as every Town fan. Our playing squad has improved in the last year and contains a good mix of experience and youth, with exciting players worth watching.As demonstrated in January, when it is necessary, we will buy players - not just to improve quality now but also investing in those who have potential - players that will enable us to compete with the best in this division and higher. Our Academy will continue to play a key role in the Club's future, with the best young players making the step up to the senior team.

Join us and be part of the new era - working together to move the Club forward

The biggest role in our success can be played by you, our fans.As supporters in the stands, buying shirts or contributing to the Club in other ways or as businesses supporting the Club, we must all join together and play our part to make Town as successful as we possibly can.I think that most supporters realise that the £100 season ticket offer for the Centenary was fantastic, but can only be a one-off and to do that again is not financially viable. I realise that times are tough financially and the Club has tried to offer an option for everyone. In many cases, season ticket prices are lower than before the Centenary offer and in the Fantastic Family Stand lower tier, you can buy one for £99. All under 8s can get a FREE season ticket anywhere in the stadium when purchased with an adult or senior. All accompanied under 13s in the Fantastic Family Stand are FREE.

'Keep It Up'

As well as season ticket prices in the brochure, which should arrive with fans today, there is other information about the Club such as the 'Keep It Up' campaign, which is our new partnership with the charity Yorkshire Air Ambulance. Yorkshire Air Ambulance saves lives across the whole of Yorkshire and you can help "Keep It Up" - please contribute by including a donation with your season ticket payment. There is also information on our established initiatives such as the Blue and White Foundation and the YBS Terriers Account, which I would encourage you to take advantage of if you haven't already.

This is a new era

There should be no doubt in anyone's mind that this is now the real start of a new era at Huddersfield Town. We all know the Club has potential - we now have to turn that into reality.Of course, it will take time to get where we want to be, but we can use other clubs as inspiration for what is possible. Some terrific things have been achieved by clubs similar to us in recent seasons and I am sure that their fans have enjoyed the journey up the leagues, in some cases onto the Premiership, and are loving life now they are there. We are at the beginning of what promises to be a wonderful journey, I feel an excitement and level of anticipation that hasn't been around the Club for many, many years - join us and be part of the new era!
