Goals from Luke Beckett (pictured) and Luke Malcher gave Town's second string a well-earned point away to Wolves this evening in one of the most entertaining Pontin's Holidays League games of the season.

There were many chances created by both sides, but a draw was probably the fair result on the evening.

The Terriers started the game in a 4-4-2 formation, with England under-18 goalkeeper Alex Smithies behind a back four of (from left to right) Academy scholars Danny Codman, Tom Jackson, Spencer Harris and reserve team skipper Aaron Hardy. Danny Racchi and Luke Malcher occupied the right and left wings respectively with Mitchell Bailey partnering Danny Schofield in central midfield, leaving Luke Beckett and Lucas Akins to lead the line up front.

Town pummelled the hosts for the opening twenty minutes of the game and rightly took the lead after 10. Captain Hardy played a good diagonal pass across the field before Lucas Akins did brilliantly, getting to the by-line on the left side before pulling the ball back for strike partner Luke Beckett to tap home from extremely close range.

After weathering the storm, Wolves equalised with their first shot of the game after 25 minutes and the teams went into the interval on level terms.

The start to the second half was the polar opposite of the first, with Wolves well on top. Town 'keeper Smithies excelled in this period, making five excellent blocks, but he could do nothing about Wolves' second goal on the 50 minute mark.

However, Martyn Booty and Graham Mitchell's side were not to be denied and scored an equaliser on 70 minutes through first-year professional Luke Malcher. Right winger Racchi crossed to the youngster, who turned his man brilliantly on the edge of the box before firing the ball into the bottom corner.
