John Dungworth's second-string side got a well deserved point at the Diva Stadium this afternoon and can count themselves slightly unlucky not to have come away with all three after a 1-1 draw with Chester City in the Pontin's Holidays Cup.
Striker Lucas Akins (pictured) got his third Reserve team goal of the season after 12 minutes to put the Terriers ahead, heading home a deep Mitchell Bailey corner at the far post, before Chester striker Chris Holroyd scored a free-kick in the 23rd minute to equalize.
First-team coach Dungworth was reasonably happy with the display, as he explained to htafc.com:
"We played well in patches, although we looked in control for a large majority of the game", the 52-year old told us.
"Lucas Akins did very well for us and took his goal expertly and it was very pleasing to get Jon Worthington through his first 90 minutes for quite a while. It was a very competitive game today and it was a real battle for Worthy and Mitch (Bailey) in the centre but they battled hard for us.
"Danny Schofield looked lively up front for us too, getting one good effort in on goal and showing good movement. All in all, it was a good day's work from us."
