The matchday programme for Town's final home game of the 2008/09 campaign against Brighton and Hove Albion on Saturday includes tributes from pivotal figures both inside and outside football for retiring strike legend Andy Booth.
The 35-year old's tremendous commitment and achievements in the blue and white striped shirt of Huddersfield Town have drawn comments from many notable figures from the town and the surrounding area and this weekend's matchday programme chronicles them.
A few excerpts from this weekend's programme are listed below:
"I've always thought that if anybody had a son, they would wish him to grow up like Andy Booth and I don't think I can pay him any greater compliment than that." - Neil Warnock
"I looked up to him because he was always the person I wanted to be; playing centre forward for Huddersfield Town." - Olivier Award-winning actor and Town fan Patrick Stewart
"I've never admitted this, but I remember Andy starting the League Cup games against Arsenal in September 1992. We lost the home leg 5-0 after Neil Warnock played quite a few of the fringe players such as the young Boothy and after the game, I called the local radio station and complained about his inclusion in the starting line-up! However, I soon grew to love him." - Dean Hoyle
Boothy also pens the 'Guest Editor' column himself to thank the fans for their support over the years - an unmissable column.
Saturday's matchday programme also encompasses all the regular favourites - the Player's Quiz reaches a dramatic finale and we get to know Martin Kelly a bit better in '20 Questions'. Michael Collins gives his thoughts on his amazing rollercoaster of a 2008/09 campaign and manager Lee Clark talks about the end of his first half a season in the managerial hotseat at the Galpharm Stadium.
This entire 80 page programme costs just £3 and if you buy one, you will get a FREE Andy Booth face mask to wear with pride at the game!
