Another second year professional who has progressed through the Club's Academy, Leigh joined Town from non-league Bridlington in the summer of 2007.
A strong defender who is ideal for the centre-back role, he also lists the Scarborough Centre of Excellence as a former club.
Leigh has featured regularly for Town's reserve team already and will be looking to make the next step into first-team football this season.
Following a loan spell with Blue Square National pace-setters Fleetwood Town last season, he is furthering his development through another spell at newly promoted League Two outfit Oxford United until January.
