Academy scholar Shane was added to the first-team squad for the Johnstone's Paint Trophy trip to Grimsby Town in early September after injuries hit the first-team defence.
Now a first-year professional, Shane rejoined the Academy at the start of 2006 from non-League Ossett Albion. He was originally released from the Club only to force his way back into Town's thoughts after a string of impressive displays for the Northern Premier League side and impressed during a loan spell at Blue Square North outfit Hyde United last season.
