James is a second-year professional, having graduated from the Town Academy at the end of the 06/07 season. He made his first-team debut in the 1-1 draw at Oldham in April '07, setting up the equalising goal for Luke Beckett.

James, who has played for the Republic of Ireland at Under-21 level, was the great success story of last season' breaking into the team and putting together a string of composed performances that belied his years. James is contracted to Town until the summer of 2010.
