Big centre-back Neal joined Town in the January 2009 transfer window on loan from Championship side Preston North End.
A former Burnley trainee, the 6' 2" defender started his professional career with Oldham Athletic but soon earned a move to the upper echelons of football with a series of impressive performances.
Injury has hampered his time at Deepdale, but Lee Clark wasted no time in securing Neal's services for the rest of the season after he impressed during a similar spell at Southampton earlier this campaign.
