Town cross the Pennines to Blackburn for this evening's clash in the second round of the Carling Cup. Town were matched against the Premiership outfit after defeating Chesterfield in the first round and manager Peter Jackson admitted that, despite wanting a home tie, he was delighted with the draw.
It will be a great test for Town, who are flying high in League One, against a Premiership side who have won just once this season. Confidence is high in the Town camp and, while that can never be underestimated, everyone is expecting a tough game. A quick scan through the squad list is enough to worry any League One side and manager Mark Hughes is expected field and strong side featuring the likes of Craig Bellamy, Morten Pedersen and Robbie Savage. Striker Paul Dickov is also expected to make a return to the side after a back injury and he will be looking to improve Rovers' tally of just three goals in six games.
Blackburn have struggled to find their best form so far this season. Their only win so far came at home against Fulham in mid-August and their last game was a disappointing 3-0 home defeat on Saturday at the hands of former Blackburn boss Graeme Souness' Newcastle United side.
Hughes will be without former Leeds United player Dominic Matteo who has an ankle injury and Andy Todd who is suspended.
For Town, Jacko is taking every fit player over with him and young defender John McCombe will play in place of Tom Clarke who misses out due to a red card against Brentford on Saturday. David Mirfin (ankle) and Martin McIntosh (knee) are also still unavailable.
