Huddersfield Town Manager Lee Clark spoke to htafc.com following his side's stalemate with promotion chasing MK Dons.
"It was an excellent game between two very good sides," commented Clark. "They moved the ball well, but I felt that we played well for large parts of the game.
"We had a twenty minute spell where we looked anxious, but in the final quarter of the game I felt we came back strongly and maybe could have nicked it towards the death. They never really had possession where they could have hurt us - we restricted them to playing most of their football in front of us.
"We started the game very well and deserved to take the lead. At the start of the second half they had a decent spell and scored a fortuitous goal, but Karl will say they deserved it for being positive and I wouldn't disagree. I haven't seen a replay of Jack's shot at the end, but I can't question the decision when I haven't seen it properly. Even if it was over the line it doesn't matter because it wasn't given."
Deadline day signing Kallum Higginbotham saw a lot of the ball and Lee was delighted with the new boy's contribution.
"I would say for 60-65 minutes of the game there were lots of good things. We passed the ball well and saw some flashes of what Kallum Higginbotham will bring to us; he just tired towards the end. He hasn't got the shirt ahead of Lee Novak or Alan Lee and they will have opportunities to get back into the team - it is horses for courses. If we want to go with two out-and-out strikers then Alan and Lee will come in the equation because they have been fantastic this season."
Sean Morrison made his home debut alongside Jamie McCombe and helped Town restrict the visitors to only a number of chances.
"I thought we were strong defensively; Ian Bennett hasn't really had a save to make. With the goal, the lad showed that he has good delivery and there was nothing that he could really do about it. First thing Ian said when he came off the pitch was sorry, but I told him he didn't have to be because he has saved us so many points over the course of the season. He has been outstanding for us ever since he arrived at the Club."
Lee revealed that Gary Roberts is making good progress following his hernia surgery.
"Damien Johnson is fit. The only people I have got injured are Gary Roberts, who is flying following his surgery and we are looking at a shorter time of recovery with him; Danny Ward could potentially be available for Leyton Orient and Peter Clarke goes into hospital on Tuesday for his double hernia operation."
Sheffield Wednesday's victory saw Town drop out of the top two, but Lee knows that there are plenty more twists and turns to come.
"I would love to be in the top two, but there is plenty more football to be played and there will be a lot more twists and turns. We went to win the game today but came up against a good team."
