Nathan faces another layoff from first-team action

An MRI scan on 23-year old defender Nathan Clarke's knee will take place on Thursday, which will hopefully reveal the full extent of his injury suffered during last weekend's 3-1 home victory over Gillingham.

The unfortunate Academy graduate saw his return after a 10-week layoff cut short due to an apparent reoccurrence of the injury and he will now travel to Leeds for a scan in two days time.

Town Physio Lee Martin made comment on the injury this afternoon.

"Unfortunately for Nathan, the problem is with the same knee that saw him miss ten weeks. It would appear that he has damaged his meniscus on the inside of his knee and he may have some capsular damage - however it is very hard to be sure at the moment and this is why he is going for the scan. I am 99% sure that there is no ligament damage.

"It looks to be a very similar injury to the one that kept him out. We are not going to be able to put a timescale on his layoff until after the scan - to do so now would be a complete guess."
