RETURN OF THE FLASH

Posted on: Tue 07 Sep 2010

Huddersfield Town is bringing back a cult classic for a limited period only - the red and black hooped away kit from the 1991/92 campaign!

The 'Gola Flash' away shirt is fondly remembered as one of the most recognisable away shirts of all time and a limited edition replica shirt will be on sale on a first come, first served basis during the week commencing 13 September.

Priced at £37.99, the shirt will be available in all adult sizes from small to XXL. Fans can pre-order the shirt now on htafcmegastore.com by clicking HERE; fans will then be contacted when it arrives in store.

Former Commercial Manager Paul Fletcher designed this ever-popular change strip before handing over the role to Alan Stephenson, but his legacy lives on.

Eoin Hand's Town side first sported this shirt, with its radical red and black 'electric' hoops, in the successful 1991/92 season. The season may have eventually ended in disappointment with defeat to

Peterborough United in the Division Three Play-Off Semi-Finals after a third-place finish but the kit still evokes many brilliant memories for Town fans, such as the comeback from 4-0 down at Bury in September 1991 to draw 4-4.

Iwan Roberts featured regularly in it as he bettered Craig Maskell's seasonal post-war goalscoring record with 34 in one campaign.

It was also the first away kit worn by Andrew Booth after his graduation to the first team in the following season.
