Midfielder Jim Goodwin has today left Huddersfield Town after the Club and the player came to an agreement to mutually end his contract.
The 28-year old joined the Club from Scunthorpe United under previous manager Stan Ternent in June 2008 and was contracted to the Club until the end of the current season, but he has now left the Club with immediate effect.
Jim made a total of 47 appearances in the blue and white stripes of Huddersfield Town; 28 of which came under current boss Lee Clark. He also spent the second half of the 2009/10 season on loan at fellow League One side Oldham Athletic, making eight appearances.
Huddersfield Town Manager Lee Clark commented:
"Jim has been fantastic since for my entire tenure as manager of the Club. He is an incredibly hard-working individual who serves as a brilliant example for all of our young professionals and he has never let me down when he's been called upon.
"I will do everything I can to help him find a new club, but I doubt that he will need any help given his ability."
Huddersfield Town Chief Executive Nigel Clibbens paid tribute to Goodwin's contribution during his 26 month spell at the Club:
"Jim has been a terrific professional during his time at Huddersfield Town and has made a massive contribution both on and off the pitch. I would like to personally thank him for everything he has done.
"Circumstances dictated that Jim faced the prospect of limited opportunities for the remainder of his contract at the Club and this arrangement suits both parties. I would like to wish him all the best of luck in the future."
